A special lunch date

For the students at Woodlawn Beach Middle School, lunch was a little different on Oct. 13. Military parents from Hurlburt Field and beyond came to WBMS to enjoy a meal with their child and celebrate Military Appreciation Day.

The school has been hosting the luncheon for about six years, said Merelle Spino, teacher's assistant at WBMS.

When asked what makes the Military Appreciation Lunch so successful, Spino answered that the school has a special relationship with all of the military branches.

"Their commitment to risk their lives on a daily basis," said Spino, "they deserve acknowledgment and recognition."
