Karate kid brings home medals

Sarah Hartanto, a 10-year-old junior black belt, now has something very unique to share with her fifth-grade classmates at Holley-Navarre Intermediate School during the next show and tell.

Sarah returned to Navarre from Germany last week with four U.S. Karate Team medals

. She participated in four events and received three bronze medals for sparring, weapons demonstration with music and open-hand demonstration with music and a silver medal for weapons presentation without music.

"I was a tiny bit nervous," she said.
