Santa Rosa County educators prepared to light the fires in their students’ hearts and minds for the 2011–12 school year.
From kindergarteners to high- school seniors, students returned to classrooms and teachers that are ready for learning. Students started back to school on Monday, but teachers and staff at area schools began their preparation for the 2011-12 school year a week earlier.
Teachers returned on Aug. 15, unpacking books and materials, and gearing up for another successful school year in Santa Rosa County. Support staff opened the offices and began bracing for student arrivals.
Navarre High School held a newcomers meeting on Aug. 17 for new students to acquaint themselves with the Raider life. Boxes of books and materials lined the hallway from student services to the administrative offices. Among the hustle and bustle, educators were putting the finishing touches on their classrooms.
