First-year teacher wins Sam’s Club award

Sam’s Club of Fort Walton Beach presented Stephanie Humes-Brown with its Teacher of the Year Award Oct. 2.

Humes-Brown is a first-grade teacher at Holley-Navarre Primary School and was nominated by her 16-year-old son. This is her first year of teaching.

“I didn’t think I would get it,”  she said as she received the award.  “It was a big surprise. I didn’t think I’d get selected, not one bit.”
