Cindy Thorpe was presented with the fourth annual Kerry and Katherine Kilpatrick Award for Teaching Excellence in Science April 4 at Navarre High School.
Thorpe, who has 23 years of teaching experience, arrived at Navarre High School in 1996 to chair the science department and to develop the science curriculum at Santa Rosa’s newest high school. Thorpe has been active both inside and outside the classroom. She has coached JV volleyball, captained the first Relay for Life team, generated teaching grants and, with her students, stocked the Panhandle Butterfly House.
