Driver dismissal hearing dominates board meeting

The Santa Rosa County School Board’s monthly meeting took longer than usual as a stage four disciplinary hearing of a local bus driver ruled the meeting with nearly an hour of testimony.
At issue was an incident with bus #2597 on January 3 that left the bus’ crossing arm broken and driver Maria Penner facing allegations that she had struck an object with the arm, damaging the arm and causing it to fall off.
