The highlight of science fairs of the past used to be a baking soda and vinegar volcano, but at Holley-Navarre Middle School, students take their projects seriously.
The middle school held its school wide science fair earlier this month, with students competing in a wide variety of categories including computer science, zoology, physics, botany and biochemistry. Students who won in each category at the school level competed on Feb. 12 in the 56th Annual West Panhandle Regional Science and Engineering Fair, which includes students in both Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.
