Florida High Schools posted their best school grades ever, thanks to a new system designed to judge schools on more than just standardized test grades, a report released Tuesday by the Florida Department of Education said.
However, the system has some schools missing the mark, while others made better-than-average gains.
Navarre High School, an A school last year, dropped to a B this year, even though they technically had enough points to be A.
Principal Brian Noack said the frustration is in perception.
“Parents and members of the community only see that single grade,” he said, “and they don’t necessarily understand this formula.”
