South-end communities shine at school board recognition ceremony

At the Santa Rosa School Board meeting on Feb. 25, many south-end students, teachers, volunteers and schools highlighted the recognition ceremonies.

Bill Emerson, assistant superintendent for high schools, presented the Gulf Breeze boys golf team with a state-awarded plaque for having the highest cumulative grade-point average (3.517) of any 2A boys golf team in the state for 2009. Accepting the award was Edward Pate, the boys golf coach and also this year’s Santa Rosa County Teacher of the Year.
