Pinson takes top honors in national Spelling Bee

Hannah Pinson, a fifth-grader at Holley-Navarre Intermediate School, will represent Navarre in a regional Scripps National Spelling Bee contest this March in Panama City.
Pinson beat out sixth-grader Dametrious Coleman when she correctly spelled the word “ballerina” after eight rounds of competition.
This is the second year a fifth-grader has defeated a middle school student to advance to the regional contest.
