Virtual classes to expand Santa Rosa students’ opportunities

Since the mid-19th century, most American families have scheduled their lives around school bells, but that’s changing. Technology is remaking how educators, students and parents think about schooling.

“We’re talking about taking students out of the classroom, saying ‘you will learn at your own pace, anytime, anywhere,”  said Joyce McCorvey, director of Alternative Academic Programs for the Santa Rosa County School District.  “We’re not doing this because it’s something we felt like needed doing, we’re doing it because it’s the law.”
