Juana’s adds multipurpose building

A new addition to Juana’s Pagodas/Sailors’ Grill will give residents and tourists one more place on beautiful Navarre Beach to hold a special event.Juana’s Pagodas and Sailors' Grill is ready to begin construction to add a new multi-purpose building.

Jauna’s Pagodas and Sailors’ Grill has been approve by Santa Rosa County to build an additional building on the beach property.

Ken Rudzki, co-owner of Juana’s, stated that all permits have be granted to build a 4032-square-foot building on the east side of the property adjacent Navarre Beach Causeway.

The initial request to expand was made to the Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners early last year.  There was concern over unpaid fire and beach re-nourishment assessment fees, but according to County Budget Director Joel Haniford, Juana’s was never invoiced for the assessment and therefore did not know they needed to be paid. Haniford stated that upon notification, “their entire portion of fire assessments and beach re-nourishment assessments” were paid in full.

Juana’s also requested the county approve a five-year lease extension in order to “recapture their investment.” Both requests were approved. The final permits allowing the Rudzki’s to begin construction were granted Feb. 9 and construction is set to begin this week.
