Local real estate agents, lenders honored at NABOR banquet

The Navarre Area Board of Realtors celebrated another successful year at their 2011 Annual Awards and Installation Banquet at the Navarre Conference Center on Dec. 7.

Respected industry professional Shawn McCorkle installed the 2012 Board of Directors who will officially take office on January 1st 2012: President: Nancy Brown; President Elect: Sue Rogers; Treasurer: Dorothy Slye; Secretary: Julie Petersen; Director: Bob Hartley (two-year term); Directors: Mark Miller, Trena Novinc, Jodi Van Wagner, and Payne Walker; and Imediate Past President: Shari Bauer.

In addition, 2011 President, Shari Bauer, thanked retiring directors Jennifer Giglio and Amity Nowling for their service. Nowling with Crystal Shores Realty was previously recognized as the 2010 Realtor of the Year.

The following Affiliate members were recognized for their outstanding financial support in 2011: AAA Auto Club South; Bank of America Home Loans; Beach Community Bank & Mortgage; DR Horton; ERA American Realty of NW Florida; East Bay Insurance Group; First American Title; Gulf Power; Prime Lending (Navarre office); Vision Bank; Waterstone Mortgage Corporation; Wells Fargo Home Mortgage; and University Lending Group.

In addition, industry legend Carol Brown was recognized with a special award of "Real Estate Industry Icon." Brown has been a leading force in the real estate market for over four decades
