Water board denies Pullum request

Holley-Navarre Water System board of directors denied Bill Pullum’s request to install a low-pressure sewer system in his new subdivision until the board receives more justification.

Pullum’s engineer Don Jehle asked the board Oct. 18 to consider allowing the installation of a low-pressure system instead of a gravity-fed system on a new subdivision being developed off of High School Boulevard.

“We have some pretty unusual circumstances,” Jehle said. “But we are aware there are limitations on the board’s past approval of that.”

The water system and the Santa Rosa County land development code require all new subdivisions south of East River to have gravity-fed sewer systems. Jehle asked the board to sign a waiver allowing the low-pressure system, but the county would still have to approve a variance.
