William Eddins, State Attorney for the 1st Judicial Circuit of Florida, announced today that Three Rivers Resource Conservation Council is being investigated.
The investigation against the nonprofit organization focused on natural resource conservation is being conducted by the State Attorney, the Florida Office of Fiscal Integrity and the FBI. According to a press release, the three entities are “investigating complaints of theft and misappropriation of public money, equipment and funds provided to Three Rivers from federal and state grants intended for conservation projects.”
Law enforcement officers executed six search warrants Wednesday at Three Rivers’ office in Milton and other organizations doing business with Three Rivers in Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Washington counties. Law enforcement is questioning several people but no arrests have been made at this time.
