Though the ecological impacts of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill are still under debate by experts, the economic impacts are much easier to see at home.
Local business owner Jeff Elbert of Island Style Navarre said the claims process is an ongoing struggle.
“From the beginning, they’ve done everything they could to protect BP and done nothing to remedy the situation, both economic and naturally,” said Elbert.
