Higher Ground: Sinking in a sea of claims

The Deepwater Horizon spill that happened last April made lasting impacts on the Gulf Coast region.
Aside from the many ecological impacts, the spill affected the livelihoods of thousands of people and businesses along the coast.
One such business is Higher Ground Coffee and Tea Co. in Navarre and owner Julie Isaac is still trying to recoup her losses through the Gulf Coasts Claims Center. Isaac filed her original claim with BP, before the claims process was turned over to the Gulf Coast Claims Center in August.
