Florida native finds the ‘right spot' for $10 million tech industry

Elected officials, local leaders, TEAM Santa Rosa and the mayor of Gulf Breeze celebrated with Avalex owner Tad Ihns as he broke ground on Avalex’ new $10- million home at the former Gulf Breeze Ford location.

Avalex Technologies, founded in 1992, manufacturers flat panel displays, digital mapping systems, digital video recorders and sensor pointing systems for the airborne surveillance and military markets.  Avalex and a spin-off company, Lexavia, currently have offices in Pensacola and plans  to move all 55 employees to the new location in Gulf Breeze by September of 2011.
