"We were in a downward slump without a doubt," said Tom Eubank, general manager of the Adams Homes' Navarre office. "We're no where near where we were five or six years ago, but in this area, building seems to be doing well."
Beth Little, a real estate agent with Whitworth Builders Realty - another new-home construction company - said she's also seen an increase in the demand of new homes in Navarre.
"We did well last year and it's been pretty stable," said Little, who manages the Whitworth office in Holley by the Sea, a 4,000-plus lot subdivision. "It's definitely increased from 2008 to now."
Noticing the increase of the industry, a local lumber store reopened its doors for the first time in two years. 84 Lumber in Milton reopened for business on Oct. 1.
