Williams to leave post at chamber

Tracey Williams, President/CEO of the Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, announced her resignation to the chamber's board of directors April 7.

"After more than three years of many great working relationships, successful events, and many other organizational and community accomplishments together, I have decided it is time to submit my resignation in order to spend the summer with my son and focus on future personal and profession goals for myself," Williams told board members via e-mail Wednesday.

Williams was hired as the executive director of the chamber in December 2006, following the September departure of Kathy Newby. Williams began her new role Jan. 2, 2007.

"We will all be sad to see Tracey go and her shoes will be extremely hard to fill," said Cinnamon Holderman, chairman of the board, via e-mail on Wednesday. "Tracey has been gracious to give us time to develop an exit strategy and she is already working very diligently to make this a smooth transition."

Before taking her position at the chamber, Williams was executive director of the Navarre Area Board of Realtors. She had previously worked for the chamber as its membership director.

During her tenure as President/CEO, Williams oversaw the development of the Navarre Visitors' Center, Thursdays in the Park, expansion of Christmas in the Park, as well as increased the chamber's membership.
