On May 31, 1985, Shari Smith was kidnapped and murdered just two days before her sister’s high school graduation.
The search for her killer was the largest manhunt in South Carolina’s history and drew national attention. Shari’s murderer allowed her to write a farewell letter to her family. Her message has been an inspiration to thousands.
