For the second year in a row, Navarre First Assembly of God assisted local families in providing a holiday meal to remember by distributing nearly 6,000 pounds of fresh sweet potatoes on Nov. 21.
Senior Pastor Jon Skipper said the program was part of the Church's ongoing ministry to assist the economically disadvantaged members of the community.
Charlie and Donna Huff of Mary Esther drove the rental truck full of fresh sweet potatoes into the church parking lot for distribution and it wasn't long before local residents turned up to share in the bounty. The Huffs also distributed canned goods and cereal as well.
