Brats, crafts and pony rides part of weekend festival

A  “feier”  will be in full swing this weekend as the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church kicks off its 19th Annual Oktoberfest.

The German celebration kicks off at 5 p.m. Friday with the Sawmill Band from Chumuckla.

“It’s going to be an incredible draw,” said Bill Lawson, the event chairperson and president of the church council.  “They are a great band.”

The public is invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets, but no coolers, as the Sawmill Band plucks away, sampling country tunes until 8 p.m.
