Just like grandma used to make

Many families have treasured recipes that have been handed down from generation to generation.

Whether it’s grandma’s famous fried chicken, Aunt Jenny’s world class tomato soup, or cousin John’s spicy meatballs, food connects us to our past and links us to our future.

Home Instead Senior Care is sponsoring a recipe contest designed to encourage people to dust off the old recipe box and bring out their best recipe to make and share with a local senior citizen.

Chefs should then enter that recipe, along with a brief story about what makes it so special, in the Craving Companionship Recipe Contest that is running through Sept. 15. The contest is part of Home Instead’s larger Craving Companionship program, intended to encourage seniors to eat more healthfully and more socially.
