When the final bell rings on Fridays at Navarre High School this fall, some students will have a new answer to the age-old question, “So what are you doing tonight?”
The Teen Center at Hurlburt Field is developing a pilot program that offers high school students transportation to and from the teen center on base Friday and Saturday. The teen center hopes to increase its membership as well as making more students aware of the programs it offers.
“We talked about it last year,” said Zollie Ford , Teen Center director. “We started getting a better marriage with the school and with the principal.”
The partnership between the schools and the military was formed early last school year with the intention of strengthening the bond between the military and Santa Rosa County schools.
The program is for students who are military dependents.
