When the Reverend Dan Morris discusses his followers at Navarre United Methodist Church, it sounds distinctly like a proud parent admiring his children.
Morris was full of gracious praise as he talked about the church he has called home for the last five years, and admitted to being more than a little sad at his imminent departure.
Morris will begin his new position as Dauphin District Superintendent for the annual conference of the United Methodist Church, a promotion from his post as pastor at Navarre United Methodist. His last Sunday services at Navarre United Methodist are scheduled for June 19.
Morris’ new position entails supervising the work of 98 churches and pastors.
“I’m their direct reporter,” Morris explained. The district superintendent’s responsibility is to “help people in the work of our connectional ministries. Our overall mission is making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.”
