Sauce Boss shines spotlight on true face of homelessness

Bill Wharton, the Sauce Boss, makes gumbo during a concert held by Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church on March 5 to raise money and awareness on how to help the homeless.Gulf Breeze United Methodist Church hosted the Sauce Boss and his band on March 5 for a night of original blues music, comedy and what may have been the largest pot of homemade gumbo on the Panhandle.
The event was a fundraiser for local non-profit groups that work with the homeless. The main focus was raising awareness on what Lenore Wilson, executive director of Okaloosa Walton Continuum of Care called “the changing face of homelessness.”
