Asking and answering tough questions

Statistically speaking, minister Rebecca Rutherford is frustrated.

A member of the United Methodist Church, and a minister of discipleship and children, Rutherford said she knows church attendance is on the decline. The problem, she says, is why.

“We’re not seeing growth like we should,” said Rutherford.  “Scripture says we should go out into the world, and we are – sort of. The problem is that we’re not addressing the real questions, the real issues.”

For that, Rutherford and her fellow church leaders at Navarre United Methodist Church have an answer: The Alpha Course.
