Window of faith

Pastor Robert Pooley is living proof that when God closes a door, he opens a window - literally.

Pooley, who presides over Coast Community Church in Gulf Breeze, began his faith journey in an apartment with an open window.

A musician by trade, Pooley spent the better part of his young adulthood entrenched in what he calls a "rock-and-roll lifestyle," when his wife, Vickie, found God.

"I really thought that might be the end of our marriage," he said.  "But I watched how her life transformed . . . and I kept making excuses as to why I couldn't be a believer, why I couldn't be a Christian."
