As a first-time mother, Kirsten Pickles had a lot of preparing to do. But unlike most mothers, Kirsten was preparing for a funeral, not a birth.

Instead of getting her baby’s room ready with dolls, a crib and other girly knick-knacks, Kristen busied herself with funeral arrangements.
