Navarre Beach wins Best Restored Beach

The American Shore and Beach Preservation Association announced Tuesday that the Navarre Beach 2006 restoration project is a winner of its “Best of the Best” Restored Beaches contest.

Surfers release oil study findings

Preliminary results from an oil trend study, performed by the Surfrider Foundation Emerald Coast Chapter and University of South Florida coastal geologist Rip Kirby, show continued high toxin concentrations of tar product found on Florida, Alabama and Mississippi beaches.

Labor board sides with firefighters

In its unofficial findings, the National Labor Review Board found that the Navarre Beach Volunteer Fire Department board of directors did not participate in collective bargaining over wages in good faith, and therefore acted in a retaliatory manner by lowering wages.

Science station celebrates Ocean’s Day

Amphitheater plans on hold
