Holley-Navarre Fire District says assessment increase needed for wages, equipment
Holley-Navarre Fire District is a 53-square-mile fire district, home to around 47,000 residents. District leaders say more funding is needed to protect the area.
HNFD Fire Chief Kevin Lewis and firefighters met with community members Thursday, June 11, for a town hall at La Sala Event Center in Holley to discuss the current status of the district and discuss the reason they will ask for a fire assessment increase in August.

Cursive writing makes a comeback in Florida schools
Considered a lost art, cursive writing is making a comeback.
As part of Florida Senate Bill (SB) 182, which passed the State Legislature and was signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis this year, public schools will be required to teach cursive for grades two through five.
