Repair of the 12-mile road between Navarre Beach and Pensacola Beach will be completed, said Nina Kelson of Gulf Islands National Seashore.

“The (Florida Department of Transportation) has been working hard on both the road and the Opal Beach parking lot,”  she said last week.  “Trucks are moving sand and taking broken asphalt from the road daily. We should be ready to open the road to Pensacola Beach by early March unless something unforeseen occurs, like a major winter storm.”
