Causeway repairs ‘for the birds’

Dust blew across the roadway this week as heavy equipment moved up and down the causeway leading to Navarre Beach.

When the dust cleared after several hours of work, the causeway area between the road and the bulkhead was transformed into barren land. Gone were the sea oats and other coastal plants on both sides of the road. Left behind was sand that had been tilled for the whole length of the causeway.
