Beach County keeps beach hotel zoning

County keeps beach hotel zoning

Holiday Inn

Navarre Beach residents no longer have to worry about an amusement park, strip clubs or other unwanted commercial projects being built after commissioners decided to re-establish the former Holiday Inn property as Hotel Navarre Beach zoning.

The Santa Rosa County board of commissioners approved a motion during a Jan. 24 meeting to direct staff to revisit the Navarre Beach hotel zoning classification and to start working on a new and improved version of that zoning district.

The change came about after the commissioners received a plethora of phone calls, emails and public input expressing opposition to rezoning 8375 Gulf Boulevard to Navarre Beach commercial.
