County delays sea turtle center lease

Three Santa Rosa County Commissioners tabled a lease agreement with the Navarre Beach Sea Turtle Conservation Center during an Oct. 25 meeting.

District 4 Commissioner Jim Melvin and District 5 Commissioner Lane Lynchard, who represent Navarre and Gulf Breeze, respectively, were attending a Gulf Consortium in Tallahassee regarding RESTORE Act funds and were not able to attend the meeting. They will be at the Oct. 25 meeting.

Commissioners Jim Williamson, Bob Cole and Don Salter all expressed concerns about the project and asked that more information be provided. Instead of the item being moved to the Oct. 25 meeting agenda, commissioners asked organizers to present more information next month.
