TDC overwhelmed with grant requests

The Santa Rosa County Tourist Development Council’s south end committee was overwhelmed with funding requests during a Sept. 12 meeting.

TDC Executive Director Kate Wilkes set a Sept. 1 deadline for all grant requests for the 2013 budget year and the committee discussed those grant proposals during the meeting. The Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, Panhandle Butterfly House, Gulf Coast Kiln Walk and Navarre Beach Marine Science Station were among a few organizations that requested funding for events.

Wilkes said the south-end reserve only had $118,379 left in the fund that wasn’t yet allocated or spent.
