TDC to purchase turtle cam

The Santa Rosa County Tourist Development Council approved the purchase of video camera equipment to capture the process of sea turtle nests hatching on Navarre Beach. 

The board approved spending up to $2,000 to purchase the equipment. The board discussed mounting the camera to the Navarre Beach Fishing Pier since a sea turtle nest is located just west of the pier.

TDC board member Mike Loera made the motion to purchase the equipment and added that the live stream of the video could be placed on the TDC’s website, Floridabeachestorivers.com, to attract more visitors.
