Volunteers clean up Opal Beach

Maggi Roberts usually organizes a Navarre Beach Runners and Walkers Meetup in Navarre, but last week she organized her usual runners and walkers to help clean up asphalt and old road bed at Opal Beach between Navarre and Pensacola Beaches.
The asphalt and road debris is hidden in the sand and is left over from the Hurricans Ivan and Dennis in 2004 and 2005, respectively. The beach road, otherwise known as J. Earle Bowden Way, was finally re-opened in 2009.
