Driving on the beach road in the Santa Rosa County area through Opal Beach will be a bit humpier due to the installation of three new speed humps.
Dan Brown, Gulf Islands National Seashore superintendent, said that there are four speed humps total being installed with one in the Fort Pickens area. The reason for the speed humps is to slow down the speed of cars driving through designated nesting areas.
