Beach Spring break on the beach

Spring break on the beach

The Navarre Beach Marine Science Station is offering plenty for children to do during the upcoming spring break holiday.

Applications are now being accepted for children in third to fifth grade. The spring break camp is a first for the Navarre Beach Marine Science Station.

Charlene Mauro, director of the Navarre Beach Marine Science Station, said that the spring break camp came about because of requests from parents and the Santa Rosa County Tourist Development Council.

“Many parents stay here for spring break,” Mauro said, “and they wanted something for their child to do.”

The theme for the week is sea turtles and it will be taught by Glenn Rutland, an elementary gifted specialist teacher with Santa Rosa County.
