TDC approves advertising schedule

Santa Rosa County Tourist Development Council approved its 2012 advertising schedule despite disagreements over whether the placement was effective.

Mdi Marketing Group presented the proposed advertising budget and placement schedule to the TDC in November after the TDC held its planning sessions. However, the board tabled the approval to give the north and south end committees time to look over it and make recommendations.

TDC board member Jack Sanborn, owner of Adventures Unlimited, said during a Dec. 28 meeting that he thought too much of the budget was going toward print advertising when it should go toward Internet advertising.
