Tourist Development Council recommends new board members

The Santa Rosa County Tourist Development Council recommended four names to the Santa Rosa Count Board of County Commissioners to fill the board’s two vacancies.

The TDC board discussed the vacancies during an Aug. 17 meeting since the terms of Ed Taylor and Jack Sanborn expire in October. The board recommended Sanborn, Lynn Brown, Laurie Gallup and Mike Loera.

The board received six applications but narrowed it down to the four recommendations based on tourism experience and business background.

The TDC board consists of nine members with rotating terms. Three members are elected officials by rule and the other six are to be involved in the tourism industry and have a demonstrated interest in tourist development or be bed-tax collectors.
