Santa Rosa County improves pedestrian safety at beach

Runners, walkers, and bicycle-riders will have a smoother time paving their way to fitness.

The Navarre Beach Bike Path now boasts cleaner paint lines, mile-markers and kilometer turnarounds.

The improvements were made at the behest of the Navarre Runners and Walkers Meetup group, with the help of the Santa Rosa County Public Works Department.

 “In June, I noticed a lot of rough areas on the path,” said Maggi Roberts, meetup organizer. The county agreed to smooth out the path and make other improvements after Meetup members sent photos of the track’s condition.
