NBLRA gets the ‘skinny’ on garbage collection

John Tonkin does a lot of trash-talking.

He hardly minds, and neither do his listeners; especially when dissecting the new waste-hauler contractors for the south end of Santa Rosa County.

Tonkin, executive director of the Santa Rosa Clean Community System, came to Navarre Beach July 16 to speak about his favorite subject, garbage. He was the guest speaker at the monthly Navarre Beach Leaseholders and Residents Association meeting.

“The County Commissioners entered into contracts with Waste Pro and Waste Management for garbage collection starting on July 1,” NBLRA president Teresa Pack said. “I asked John Tonkin to educate the leaseholders about the new contracts.”
