Pricing the pier experience

As the saying goes, there’s no such thing as a free lunch. Even if you catch it yourself at the Navarre Beach Fishing Pier, there are still costs for accessing the pier.
Prices for fishing and walking along the pier have been a topic at recent meetings of the Santa Rosa County commissioners meetings.
Dorothy Slye, owner of The Pier, Inc. requested that the commission lower the price of annual passes to the pier in order to allow more families to visit during the commission’s June 20 meeting.
Slye said that if the price of an annual pass was brought to $100 for all, it would result in some loss of revenue.
