The Santa Rosa County Tourist Development Council of the south end has passed a motion and voted to support the Navarre Beach Marine Sanctuary project.
At the March 9 meeting, Mandy Evers, chair person of the Marine Sanctuary Committee, spoke about the project and asked the TDC for a commitment.
“I’ve heard that Jim Melvin has been talking in the community about funding the reefs and I’ve spoken with him, but I just don’t have a firm number,” Evers said.
Evers said she was pushing for a commitment because the sanctuary is close to getting the last of its permits.
