Sanctuary moves forward with new permit date

The Navarre Beach Marine Sanctuary committee was hoping to receive national permits in March so they could begin planning and funding for the marine sanctuary, but those permits will be coming in June.
At their monthly meeting on Jan. 31, past committee chair, Mark Griffith said state permits are already in place and the group is waiting for the national permit from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
