The Navarre Beach Volunteer Fire Department board of directors is hoping to rewrite the bylaws governing the corporation before the department turns 20 in November.
“The bylaws haven’t been looked at, really…they were written 20 years ago,” explained Ken Rudzki, board member. “They need to be updated, cleaned up.”
During a board meeting last October, the issue of the board potentially violating its own bylaws was discussed. That matter was also part of a charge filed by the department’s firefighters’ union local 4494 with the National Labor Review Board in December.
