In 1994, Jane and Keith Johnson bought a townhouse unit in Emerald Seas on Gulf Boulevard.
A year later, Hurricane Opal became the first of several storms that played havoc with the Johnsons’ lives at Emerald Seas. Damage from Opal caused them to move to the mainland for 14 months while repairs were made to their home.
“We have had so many storms since we moved here, I sometimes get their names mixed up,” Jane Johnson said.
